SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield fire crews were called to a reported fire on 124 Washburn Street Wednesday at around 11 p.m.

According to Springfield Fire Department Captain Drew Piemonte, the fire has been extinguished. No injuries were reported. 3 adults, 7 children, and 2 dogs were left without a home and are being aided by the Red Cross.

Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad investigated the cause and determined it to be an electrical malfunction.
