Springfield firefighters respond to car fire near Roosevelt Avenue

Firefighters in Springfield were able to put out a car fire earlier Sunday night.

Springfield Fire Spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News this car caught fire around 8:10 p.m. Sunday evening, on the corner of Page Blvd. and Roosevelt Ave.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire. No one was injured.

Leger also said the the fire started from kids throwing coins into the car, but one of the coins landed inside the cigarette lighter.
