A Springfield home was damaged last night following a car fire.

Springfield Fire Spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News firefighters were called to 164 Harkness Avenue a little after 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.

When they arrived, they found a 2006 V-W Passat on fire in the driveway.

The fire was quickly put out but Leger says the home has about $5,000 in damage from heat exposure.

The Springfield Arson & Bomb Squad is investigating the cause of the fire.

No one was injured.
