The seniors at Clodo Concepcion Community Center had a special guest for lunch on Monday.
Mayor Domenic Sarno had a visit with diners, meeting everyone and fielding questions.
They talked about the newly opened Ray Jordan Senior Center and the MGM Springfield casino project.
Mayor Sarno also listened to the concerns these Springfield seniors had such as taxes.
“Sixteen Acres residents pay the highest in the city, and we get the least amount of services,” Ann Hadank explained. “And with economic boom in the city of Springfield, I feel like we should get some kind of adjustment out here.”
Mayor Domenic Sarno told 22News, “They’re not shy in voicing constructive criticism or accolades, which I appreciate.”
Other topics discussed included traffic safety and health care.
