Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito celebrated an iconic new exhibit at the Springfield Museums Thursday night.
The museum hosted a gala to kick off a new exhibit featuring iconic American items on loan from the Smithsonian.
Included in the new exhibit, the Superman and Lois Lane costumes worn by Christopher Reeves and Margot Kidder. There are gloves worn by Marilyn Monroe, clothing from well-known movies and TV shows, and sports paraphernalia.
“So many people want to come and experience the culture and the arts and the creativity that exists here,” said Lieutenant Gov. Polito. “It’s great that Springfield is the host of these museums, and it shouldn’t be a secret, it should be a well-known fact that this is a great experience for people to come.”
The new exhibit will be on display through February 24.
