Springfield Police Patrolman’s Union donates to local martial arts club

Hampden County

Members of the Springfield Police Patrolman’s Union made a generous donation to a local martial arts club.

The Union’s charitable arm, “364 Gives,” presented a $7,500 check to “The School of the Noble Warrior,” at the Elias Brookings School Thursday night.

A Springfield police officer runs the combination martial arts club and mentoring program. The club will use the grant to fulfill its mission of helping at-risk youth in Springfield.

Founder Ahmad Sharif told 22News, “It’s huge. It helps provide more resources and equipment and uniforms for the children who otherwise couldn’t afford it.”

In 2017, “364 Gives” donated more than $13,000 to various programs in and around Springfield.
