Super Bowl Sunday is just days away, and New England towns and cities are showing their support, including one in western Massachusetts.
The Springfield Business Improvement District added three New England Patriots ice sculptures in downtown Springfield to show some Patriots pride. The new artwork is an addition to the existing Downtown Ice Invasion ice sculptures.
The ice sculptures are located on the steps of City Hall, outside the MassMutual Center and at Monarch Plaza.
William Baymon, a longtime Springfield resident told 22News it’s nice to see all these changes, “I’ve been here a long time and I’ve seen a lot of changes in Springfield. Some of the changes for the better. To me, it’s a wonderful thing. Keep people interested in things going on downtown.”
In addition to the ice sculptures, Monarch Place will be showcasing their support for the Patriots with a letters display on top of the building.
The owners of the New England Patriots are encouraging New England cities and towns to Light up Saturday Night, with Patriots colors.
