WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Three-on-three basketball is returning to western Massachusetts.

Hooplandia is coming back to Springfield with a joint event from the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Eastern States Exposition. This summer, youth will be participating in games on more than 70 courts.

Hooplandia is donating $10 of every team registration to local Boys and Girls Clubs in support of the region’s youth. Additionally, it is expected that this event can bring over $4 million of an economic boost to the city.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno told 22News, “What I said to the staff here is you might not get your reward right away, but you’re gonna run into a young man or a young lady and/or their families members a couple of years from now, five years from now, ten years from now, twenty years from now, saying because of their efforts, that young men or young women are doing very well.”

Hooplandia is to take place from June 23rd to 25th. Registration fees will range from $75 to $190. Children under the age of 8, and Special Olympics division participants are free of charge.
