Hampden County

Holyoke Soldiers’ Home received a large donation Saturday.

“Indian Motorcycle of Springfield” and “Victory 4 Veterans” presented a check to the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home for $43,000 Saturday afternoon.

Volunteers raised the money through a raffle of a 2018 Indian Chief Vintage Motorcycle and the Holyoke Soldiers Home Charity Ride.

22News spoke to the owner of Indian Motorcycle of Springfield, Dennis Bolduc, about the connection they have within the community.

“Indian Motorcycle for us, It’s local, it was built here in 1901-1953, so there is a lot of strong roots,” Bolduc said. “There are veterans out here that road the motorcycles, whether through the war or they had in as a civilian. So, there is a really warm feeling for Indian Motorcycles, throughout this whole area and especially this organization here.”

After the check presentation, the lucky winner of the raffle was given their 2018 Indian Chief Vintage Motorcycle.
