It’s been 17 years since former Westfield State Senator Michael Knapik began the annual Western Massachusetts Legislators Pancake Breakfast. And Knapik’s successor, State Senator Don Humason, has continued that tradition.
Humason hosted state lawmakers and their families on Friday morning for pancakes at Moolicious Farm in Southwick.
Humason told 22News that the event allows them time together they rarely receive up on Beacon Hill. “It’s politics and pancakes,” he explained. “It’s an informal way of gathering, bringing people together that’s really important.”
Humason announced earlier this month that he is running for Mayor of Westfield in the fall. He promised that these annual gatherings will continue no matter who hosts the event.
