Student Prince Cafe, Fort Restaurant begin four-day St. Patrick’s Day celebration

A kickoff to St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Springfield Thursday night.

The Student Prince Cafe and Fort Restuarant’s four-day celebration includes live music, Irish food, and green beer. 

The Philadelphia Mummers Aqua String Band and Holyoke Caledonian Pipe Band performed Thursday night and will perform again Friday before the parade this weekend. 

Ken Maminski, a member of the Philadelphia Mummers told 22News the band has been part of the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade for 26-years. 

“The crowd, the people everybody is so friendly it’s like a second home for us, it’s become a second home for us,” said Maminski.

The Student Prince is offering items off a special Irish menu throughout St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
