Students at Rebecca Johnson Elementary School in Springfield have earned recognition from a national non-profit known as Shape Up America.

The school’s musical class made a video that convinced the Shape Up America Foundation to select Rebecca Johnson to be one of 10 schools from across America to receive a grant to enhance their after-school activities.

The amount of the grant will be disclosed next week.

Principal Sutton told 22News, “After having a long day of academics they are very excited about the grants and having start process started.”

Shape up America is considering building a climbing wall to become part of the after-school program.
