A special fundraiser was held in Holyoke Saturday afternoon in support of brain cancer research.

The “Taste Towards a Cure” event featured food from 10 different restaurants as well as tastings from a local brewery.

The event was held in honor of former chef Eric Smith, who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 15 months ago.

More than 100 people came out to “Gateway City Arts” this afternoon in Holyoke to show their support for Eric and other warriors who have fought and are still fighting against cancer.

Smith told 22News, “A lot of people that have had a place in our lives one way or another whether it’s family or friends or family friends or friends of family or customers that I see food to were quick to volunteer to come here and be a part of this.”

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
