The Forest Park Project to hold fundraiser in Chicopee Saturday night

Hampden County

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – An organization that fights the opioid epidemic will be looking for support in Chicopee Saturday night.

Antoine Diaz, who is in recovery himself, started the Forest Park Project after losing his twin brother Christian to an overdose last year, and their friend Brian Metzger a few years before that.

The group will be holding a fundraiser at The Munich Haus Saturday night to raise money to create a sober house for people struggling with addiction.

Diaz told 22News, “I want to help the next Brian Metzger and Christian Diaz. Losing my twin brother, the way he went out, did something to me that I wanted to not let somebody else suffer like that. And part of it was that it was hard for him to get into a sober house.”

State Representative John Velis is among the speakers.
