A passing tractor trailer brought down electrical and cable wires in Hampden late Wednesday morning.
Hampden Police Sgt. Michael Cooney told 22News that the truck hit the wires that were hanging over Chapin Road, just north of the Massachusetts-Connecticut state line, shortly after 11:00 A.M.
Cooney says that the wires in question connected a single home to the main power supply, so there was not a loss of power at any nearby homes.
Chapin Road only had to be closed for about 45 minutes following the incident, but Charter and National Grid crews were still working in the area as of 2:00 P.M.
Cooney said the driver of the truck is not being issued any citations.
