Truck fire spread to house in West Springfield

Hampden County

West Springfield firefighters are looking into what caused a fire that started in a pickup truck, and then spread to a nearby house.

West Springfield Deputy Fire Chief Bob Manchino told 22News that the fire started at around 11:30 Monday morning, in a truck parked in the driveway of 584 Morgan Road. The flames from the truck fire spread to the house and the adjacent garage.

No one was hurt in the fire, and Manchino said that the residents are expected to be allowed to return home later in the day.

He said that they are still trying to figure out the cause, but they do not believe the fire had been intentionally set.
