Unify Against Bullying hosted a launch party in downtown Springfield Monday night for their annual May fashion show fundraiser.
More than a hundred community members came out to support Unify’s launch party. The event is an official kickoff for their annual Unify Fashion Show fundraiser, which features male and female teen models of all ethinicties, sizes and physcial abilities.
Unify Against Bullying’s mission is to bring an end to bullying through the celebration of diversity.
“A lot of times kids are convinced they should hide their differences, when in reality we want to turn that on its head,” said Edward Zemba, President of Unify Against Bullying. “We want to celebrate who you are and celebrate those differences.”
Zemba said all of the money raised at the fashion show will help pay for grants that they will give to organizations that share their mission to end bullying.
The fashion show fundraiser takes place May 14 at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
