USPS offering free “informed delivery” to ensure all mail is accounted for

Hampden County

The Postal Service has a way for you to make sure your first class mail makes it to your home.

The USPS now offers informed delivery.

The postal service will send you photos of letters set to be delivered to your mailbox. This free service allows residents to make sure all of their mail is accounted for. It also allows you to update your preferences if you won’t be home for an important piece of mail.

People forget their letters can be just as important as a package.

“Everybody worries about it,” said Joshua La Ru Of West Springfield. “I mean how many videos do you see online of a news report of package thefts? I had never heard that was something the postal service was doing, sounds like there isn’t really a downside to it.”

You can find out if informed delivery is available by entering your zip code on the USPS website.
