Volunteers help clean up Shaker Farm Country Club ahead of golf season

Hampden County

A little spring cleaning in Westfield Tuesday! Shaker Farms Country Club held a clean-up day to prepare for golf season.

Volunteers were asked to bring their own equipment to clean up the course.

George Jay of West Springfield said he was happy to lend a helping hand, “I golf here every year and it’s a volunteer program this year. Every golf course needs a lot of help in the beginning of the season and we’re here to help this golf course out the best that we can.”

And if a clean course weren’t enough incentive, volunteers were treated to free pizza and beer.
