Warehouse roof collapses on North Ramah Circle in Agawam

Crews were called to the area of North Ramah Circle after the roof of a warehouse collapsed Monday evening. The building is not safe for occupants until further notice, authorities say.

Agawam fire officials told 22News reports of a partial roof collapse at the warehouse on 44 North Ramah Circle was reported around 5:30 p.m.

Dispatch Mike Consolini said members of the city’s fire and police departments were in the area assisting with the incident.

Chief Alan Sirois explained that a worker from a next-door business in the area heard the roof collapse and called authorities. Chief Sirois said no one was inside when a portion of the building collapsed.

The last occupants inside the building left at 3 p.m., the fire chief added. No injuries were reported.

The building is said to be a warehouse used to store large industrial machines.
