Warmer weather on the way means you can prepare for your outdoor projects

Hampden County

Even though it has been pretty chilly the last couple of days the weather will be getting warmer.

It might be a little too early to do very much, but you can start preparing.

The snow is pretty much all gone in the Springfield area and with warmer weather in the forecast this weekend you may be thinking of getting a jump on those outdoor spring projects but it’s probably a good idea to hold off a little longer.

Bob Boilard of Boilard and Sons, told 22News, “It’s a little too early to do any coating finishing, painting your home, painting your decks. You need a consistent temperature of 54 degrees which is advisable by manufacturers so the coatings can dry so that’s a little too early probably won’t see that happen until later April and May.”

It’s not too early to start planning things like that new deck or patio.

You can also start getting the materials you’ll need to build it. Of course, right now you can always work on getting the yard back in shape.
