West Springfield police officers spent their Saturday collecting toys for children and families in need.
The west side police department is supporting the city’s “Operation Santa” program this weekend with their “Stuff-A-Cruiser” event.
Dozens of people came to Pintus Indian Palace Saturday to literally, stuff a police cruiser with new unwrapped toys.
Event organizer Carly Camossi told 22News, their mission is to make the Christmas season joyful for everyone. “People that are less fortunate don’t get to celebrate the holidays like everyone else, so it’s great that community members can come together and be able to donate.”
On Sunday West Springfield Police will move their toy drive to the police station at 26 Central Street. They’ll be there from 10 a.m. in the morning until 1 p.m. in the afternoon.
