Dozens of foster children from the Western Massachusetts area were connected with potential forever families.
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange hosted their 11th annual adoption party at the Westfield Boys and Girls Club Sunday afternoon. The event was hosted in collaboration with the Department of Children and Families.
The adoption party gave adoptive parents, who have been through the approval process, the chance to meet children who are looking for permanent homes in a casual atmosphere.
“You can get all the information you want from a social worker, but until you meet a child and interact with them and build a home depot project for them, or do a water bottle snow globe project with them you really don’t understand the children or get to know them,” said child services coordinator Maurine Albano.
Sunday’s adoption party is part of the ongoing celebration of National Adoption Month, which kicked off on November 1st.
