Westfield bus driver let go after complaints of missing several stops

Hampden County

A school bus driver will no longer be driving Westfield Public School students.

Westfield Public Schools said they acted immediately to ensure the safety of all of their students who take the bus.

Westfield Schools Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski told 22News a Lecrenski Brothers bus driver drove off his bus route just before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

He said they found out that the driver missed several stops, while the bus was on East Main Street.

The School District hires nearly all of their buses from Lecrenski Brothers in Westfield.

“That is our top priority,” said Czaporowski. “Our students are picked up and dropped off safely every day. As soon as any concern comes to us we act immediately.”

After receiving several complaints from parents, Czaporowski told 22News they told Lecrenski Brothers to prohibit that person from driving their students.

Czaporowski could not tell us the bus driver’s name.

We contacted Lecrenski Brothers but had not heard back.
