WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Barnes Air National Guard has announced the Westfield International Air Show for 2023.

Mark your calendars for May 13th and May 14th, 2023. With 162 days, 23 hours, 53 minutes, and 57 seconds at the time this article was written, sales will start in December. Performers will be announced shortly as well.

The air show was cancelled in 2021 over COVID-19, and organizers said the unpredictability of COVID-19 was a factor in the decision.

“Here at the 104th Fighter Wing, the health and safety of our community and our Barnestormers is our top priority. We understand what the Air Show means to the 104th and the surrounding communities. Making the decision to cancel this community event was difficult but necessary,” said Maj. Stephen ‘Steagle’ Mindek Project Officer for the 2021 Air Show in a press release early in 2021.”Thank you for your unwavering support of the 104th Fighter Wing. We look forward to the next opportunity that we can safely host another Air Show and Open House here.”

With 21 F-15C Eagle aircraft, the 104th Fighter Wing is on call 24/7 to provide protection and emergency response to the United States and Massachusetts, but also provides international support as well. The highly trained, highly skilled pilots are ready to be back in action in 2023.
