Wet weather didn’t stop West Springfield annual Easter egg hunt

Hampden County

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday morning’s wet weather put a damper on pre-Easter activities but some easter egg hunts continued even through the rain.

The West Springfield Park & Recreation Department held its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning.

The event was moved to the West Springfield Middle School gymnasium because of Saturday’s rain. More than one hundred children came out to participate in the egg hunt and get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

West Springfield Mayor, William Reichelt, told 22News, “I drove in and I was surprised by the amount of people that were still here. I figured you move it inside, they usually do this kind of stuff on the tennis courts when we do it at Mittineague Park, but it was actually a really good turnout.”

There’s the chance for a scattered shower or two Easter morning but most of the day is looking dry.
