An on-going initiative to raise awareness and bring accessibility for all.
Stanley Park held it’s 10th annual Wheel Walk in Westfield Saturday. The event is designed to accommodate everyone, with or without wheels. Those in wheelchairs, walkers and strollers were invited to walk in support of accessibility.
The walk started and ended at the Beveridge Pavilion, where a picnic was held for all participants after the event.
Stanley Park managing director Robert McKeane told 22News, “Awareness is big because people don’t realize exactly what we have around us in our neighborhood. Stanley Park coming from Frank Stanley Beveridge when he first started…it’s for everybody. That’s what we want to continue doing. Keep his legacy going and do the right thing for the people of our communities.”
Proceeds from Saturday’s walk will go towards the promotion and expansion of Stanley Park’s “Accessibility for All” initiative.
