HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A favorite local burger joint has opened a new location in Holyoke on Tuesday.
White Hut is now open at 825 Hampden Street following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday morning. You could certainly feel the excitement in the air and you could certainly smell the delicious mouthwatering burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill.
White Hut has been working to replicate their winning formula and expand to a new market for many years now. Since its establishment in 1939, the beloved local burger joint has been satisfying generations of burger enthusiasts in West Springfield. They have even gained national recognition being named one of the best burgers in America.
Business owner Peter Picknelly said that opening in Holyoke was a given because of how business friendly the community there is. This new business venture will not only help satisfy many hungry bellies but help boost the local economy and bring lots of foot traffic to the city.

“We started in West Springfield 85 years ago and the exact same recipe and the same menu will be served right here in downtown Holyoke. And we’re excited about it,” said Picknelly.
“Considering it’s regional name, recognition. Folks from not just in Holyoke but from out of town as well are going to travel here and they are going to want to eat here and stop and spend their money here and it contributes to our tax base. And it’s always a good thing,” said Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia.
White Hut’s hours in Holyoke will be the same as in West Springfield, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the weekends.
