Creative talent was celebrated at a local university this evening, continuing a decades-long tradition.
Western New England University held its 16th annual Student Media Festival in the school’s Sleith Hall Wood Auditorium Thursday night.
Student PSAs, tv reports, short films and other media projects were showcased as students competed for top honors.
Local media professionals, Department of Communication Alumnae and university staff members served as judges.
“Media content is just as important in our society as art would be or as music would be and I think it’s important to have a place where students can compete, yes, but also showcase their work,” said Erin Cristi, a student coordinator at the university.
The Student Media Festival was created in 2002 as a way for students to share the work they produced throughout the academic year with family, friends and potential employers.
