Woman injured after being pinned under car in Holyoke has died

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman who was seriously injured after becoming pinned underneath a car in Holyoke Monday has died.  

Hampden County DA Spokesperson Jim Leydon confirmed for 22News, the accident was fatal. Leydon said the accident happened when the woman was helping shovel out the vehicle from the snow.

According to Holyoke Fire Lt. Michael Boucher, the vehicle was running and in reverse when it caught traction and backed over the woman on North East Street Monday afternoon. 

The woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center but did not survive.
