HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman was seriously injured after becoming pinned underneath a car on North East Street in Holyoke Monday afternoon.

Holyoke Fire Lt. Michael Boucher told 22News the woman was helping shovel out the vehicle from the snow when the accident happened.

“The vehicle was running and in reverse when it caught traction and backed over the female patient,” Boucher said.

After being freed from underneath the car, the woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center with what Boucher said appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
