No serious injuries were reported when two cars collided in the Dwight Street section of the city Wednesday afternoon.
Springfield fire officials told 22News crews were called to the corner of Dwight and Waverly Streets around 3:44 p.m. for the accident which required extrication.
Springfield firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate a young girl from the front seat of one of the vehicles involved.
The young girl was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as minor.
Fire officials say a driver and two other children got out of the vehicle on their own before crews arrived to assist.
