Hundreds of people escaped Sunday’s rain by taking the time to stop and smell the orchids.
The 20th annual Amherst Orchid Society show ended Sunday at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton.
The two-day event gave growers the chance to show off their hard work. A variety of exotic flowers were showcased and many were even for sale.
“I love growing the orchids with a challenge or maybe an exotic species that you wouldn’t necessarily see every day,” said Maryanne Laukaitis of the Amherst Orchid Society.
“This is just so beautiful,” Shawn Farley of Florence told 22News. “The colors and the shapes of so many varieties.”
Dozens of growers put their orchids on display during this year’s show.
