There was a community BBQ in Hadley Sunday evening ahead of the Memorial Day holiday.
It’s become an annual event, where people from the community come together to remember those who died in active military service.
Although is wasn’t the best weather — that didn’t stop dozens from gathering at the town commons.
22News spoke with Sean Barry, a Hadley resident who attends to BBQ every year, and says its a social event, “It started about 10 years ago when we were here watching the parade and as soon as the parade was done, everybody went home and did their own thing and we said this is a town common, we need to have a community event and share more time together.
The BBQ is usually held after the Hadley Memorial Day parade. But that had to be canceled due to rain.
No word if there is a makeup date.
