Baystate hosts free workshop for runners

Baystate Franklin Medical Center hosted a free runner’s workshop on Sunday morning.

According to Baystate Franklin Medical Center Spokesperson Molly Macmunn, the workshop hosted a number of professionals who know how to manage and prevent running injuries. 

Speakers discussed a number of topics including marathon running and running form. 

The workshop ran from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and hosted accomplished Northampton athlete and coach Martha Grinnell.

Macmunn said Grinnell is known for placing seventh overall in the 1997 female Hawaii Ironman, being a four time member of the Women’s Pro USA World Triathlon Championship Team, and having a qualifying time for the 2000 Triathlon Olympic Trials.

  • Franklin Medical Center MD, Tara Futrell
  • Pilates Educator, Katrina Hawley
