Body found in wooded area in South Hadley

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – An unattended body was found in South Hadley Monday morning.

South Hadley Police Chief Steve Parentela told 22News the body was found in a wooded area off Old Lyman Road at approximately 11:15 a.m.

The chief said the death is believed to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public. 

South Hadley police and the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office are now looking into what led up to the victim’s death, with the help of the Office of the Medical Examiner.
