Food and beer brought people together for a good cause in South Hadley Thursday night.

Dozens of people were at the Boathouse Restaurant in South Hadley for a celebrity bartending event that benefits the annual Leprechaun Plunge.

It was a battle of local car dealerships. The celebrity bartender competition featured Marcotte Ford, TommyCar Auto, Gary Rome, and Steve Lewis Subaru.

Money raised will help organize the plunge into the Connecticut River next month.

Leprechaun Plunge President Raymond Morin told 22News, “It’s a fun event and we try to get everyone down here. This kicks it off, this is our kickoff to the Leprechaun Plunge this season. And just raising money for charity, they really get into it.”

This will be the 10th annual Leprechaun Plunge.

Morin said they’ve raised over $100,000 almost every year for Shriners Hospital, The Food Bank, Autism Connections, and other local charities.

This year’s plunge takes place on March 10.
