One of Massachusetts’ oldest agricultural fairs is celebrating a milestone this week.
The 150th edition of the Cummington Fair began late Thursday afternoon.
The four-day event, with roots in the farming community, attracted 30,000 people last year.
“It’s still steeped in agriculture,” the fair’s Vice President, Kevin Hollister told 22News. “There’s still horse pulls, ox pulls, sheep, milking cows.”
The Cummington Fair has been a popular event in the western Massachusetts hilltowns since it was first held in 1868.
