Dozens of potholes have formed on Glendale Road, making driving very difficult. Although these potholes are causing headaches, some resident’s are having a little fun with it.
A sign saying “You’re gonna need a bigger tire”—a play on words from the movie Jaws—was placed in the middle of the road.
22News spoke to Ron Baranowski who has lived on Glendale for more than 15 years. He said potholes form every year, but this year is especially bad.
“We get a lot of people pulling over, cars get flat tires, they are throwing the blacktop off to the side over there, it’s bad,” Baranowski told 22News.
The City of Northampton is encouraging residents to report potholes so that crews can make repairs.
Residents living on Glendale Road told me they haven’t seen any crews on their road yet. However, Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz said the road is listed to be repaved later on this year.
I love the sign and am glad Hamp residents are keeping a sense of humor during a rough pothole season. FYI – I announced in December that Glendale Road was on the 2019 repaving list along with several other streets. It’s currently out to bid: https://t.co/zg0wCXm30u— David Narkewicz (@MayorNarkewicz) March 12, 2019
