Easthampton dispensary seeking license to sell recreational marijuana

Hampshire County

Hampshire County could soon have a recreational pot shop.

It’s still illegal to sell recreational marijuana in Massachusetts, but a medical marijuana dispensary in Hampshire County is now seeking a license to sell recreational pot in Easthampton.

The Cannabis Control Commission is scheduled to consider three recreational pot applications from INSA this week, one of which is to open a retail shop in Easthampton.

INSA currently operates medical marijuana dispensaries in Easthampton and Springfield.

INSA’s medical marijuana dispensary in Easthampton applied for its recreational license in May.

The Commission had hoped to begin selling recreational marijuana sales on July 1, but there is no set date for opening the state’s first retail pot shop.

INSA told 22News once recreational sales begin, they expect their customer base to triple.
