Easthampton using mobile app to help city-wide cleanup

Hampshire County

The annual Easthampton city-wide clean up took place Saturday morning.

The clean up used the Litterati app allowing users to geo-tag the location and type of litter they find.

On the app you can find a map showing where significant amounts of litter can be found.

The event is organized by The Nashawannuck Pond Steering Committee in partnership with the Friends of The Manhan Rail Trail and Easthampton City Arts.

Besides your phone make sure you bring gloves, contractor bags, rakes, and brooms to help the clean up.

Volunteers are asked to sign up for three or four hour shifts online.

Volunteers can check in at 50 Payson Avenue in Easthampton.

The clean up will officially began at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
