EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Easthampton are reminding drivers to be cautious as the 2nd Annual Fort Hill Brewery Half Marathon and 5K kicks off Sunday morning.
According to the Easthampton Police Department, the half marathon will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the 5K will follow shortly after at 11 a.m. on Fort Hill Road. Runners will then continue on the Manhan Rail Trail to Coleman Road in Southampton.
Runners will continue their route on the following streets in Southampton:
- Coleman Roud
- Gunn Road
- Line Street
- Pomeroy Street
- Hendrick Street
- Brook Street
Police said after that runners will travel through Nonotuck Park to Williston Avenue, onto Payson Avenue, and then will return to the rail trail.
During this time, police are advising drivers to be cautious and drive safely in the areas runners will be to ensure the safety of everyone.
According to the race website, the half marathon and 5K will raise money for the Easthampton High School’s track and field and cross country programs. Funds from the race will pay for track maintenance work, equipment, and anything else the program might need.
