A decades old church tradition continued in Hatfield Sunday afternoon.
The Holy Name of Jesus South Deerfield Parish hosted its annual chicken BBQ.
The fundraising event, which has grown over the years, has been held for more than 50 years in different locations across western Massachusetts.
This year’s barbeque was held at the Hatfield Lions Club Pavilions. Hundreds came out for music, raffles and of course chicken.
Maryann Foster, from South Deerfield, told 22News, “It’s really very uplifting to see the response of the community. It’s very wonderful. We have such a wonderful social presence here it’s great.”
The Rhythm Band from Connecticut performed at today’s event.
All proceeds will go to the Holy Name of Jesus church.
