Locals celebrate ahead of Easter Sunday

Hampshire County

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s the Saturday night before Easter and some locals headed to the bars to celebrate.

Although it’s not as busy as Thanksgiving Eve which has been referred to as “Black Out Wednesday” people in Northampton celebrated at the Bishop’s Lounge.

The bar said they expect a full house Saturday night. Manager Garrick “Force” Perry told 22News despite the Easter Sunday holiday a good crowd is always common for the weekends.

“Normally the night before Easter is pretty quiet but luckily we have a non-traditional holiday here in western Massachusetts and “Extravaganja” was down the road,” Perry said. “We’re hoping to have a big birthday bash for Honeycomb, you can hear him starting up in the background. So I think it’s going to be a bunch of old friends, people coming out because they’re in town.”

Bishops Lounge expects a lot more people Saturday night because of many celebrating the cannabis culture for 4/20.
