NETA recognizes cannabis culture with “Foodie420” celebration

Hampshire County

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The city was buzzing outside of NETA in Northampton Saturday with people celebrating cannabis culture.

NETA held a “Foodie420” celebration Saturday inviting patrons to enjoy food catered by local downtown vendors, including Northampton’s Spoleto Restaurant Group.

“We jump on any opportunity to cater with them,” said Executive Corporate Chef Andrew Brow. “Obviously with it being 4/20, the festival at the fairgrounds, we thought it would be a great idea to come and put our best foot forward, so we could do future events with them.”

Dispensary General Manager of NETA, Angela Cheek told 22News, “This has been a really safe and responsible-use holiday. We’re trying to really encourage people to go low, go slow with your dosing, but also have a really great time. Northampton has been so supportive. We’re very excited to give that support back to the community.”

NETA told 22News, there’s been a steady flow of traffic on this rainy Saturday as the city celebrates the marijuana industry. A day which many consider to be an “unofficial” national holiday for cannabis culture.

“It’s a really good thing to see people coming together in supporting something that is so you know substantial to everybody involved,” Katelyn Mast of Northampton said. “Not just obviously for fun things but for medical purposes as well.”

And for those of you celebrating the cannabis-crazed day, be sure to do so responsibly.
