St. John’s Church in Northampton celebrated the holiday season with a night of singing and celebration.
Sunday night was the 42nd year that St. John’s Church has held the Messiah sing-along.
The sing-along in Northampton is an annual tradition and nearly 200 people fill the church each year. Many of those in attendance are not members.
“Well what I think is important to this event is that there is a significant number of people who will be here tonight that don’t worship here, I mean as in 90 percent,” said Catherine Munz, rector of St. John’s Church.
Each year all proceeds from the event are given to the MANNA Soup Kitchen and canned goods are collected for the Northampton Survival Center.
