The Northampton Planning Board approved a project to bring more housing to the city.
Village Hill Cohousing announced on Wednesday that 28 homes will be coming to the corner of Olander Drive and Ford Crossing, varying from single-family homes to 2-story houses.
They will be energy efficient homes, with hopes to enhance the quality of living in the Northampton community.
22News spoke to future resident Mitch Darer, who is excited to see the complex become a reality.
“The real thrust of the co-housing, the Village Hill Co-Housing, is the community, the people and the bond between them,” Darer told 22News. “Just the thought that the people are all there for each other and share and help each other.”
The complex will feature an exercise room and community space. Pricing for the housing ranges from nearly $300,000 to $400,000.
There is no word yet on when the project will be completed.
