NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Northampton residents advocated for climate sustainability on Earth Day.
More than one hundred people participated in a forum concerning the Green New Deal Monday night.
The Green New Deal resolution calls for a national plan to drastically cut pollution from energy production, transportation, industry, and agriculture. One Northampton High School student told 22News why she wants to get involved.
“I’ve been concerned about climate change for as long as I can remember,” Willa Sippel said. “Because as a youth today, that is one of the most pressing issues facing humanity.”
Monday night’s forum was held at Northampton High School.
