One person air-lifted to hospital after snowmobile vs aircraft accident in Worthington

One person is in stable condition after being hurt in an accident involving a snowmobile and an aircraft Tuesday evening. 

According to the Hilltown Community Ambulance Association, emergency services were called shortly before 8 p.m. for a snowmobile vs. aircraft accident in a field. 22News first learned about the accident around 7:30 p.m. from a viewer in the area.

Worthington fire officials immediately responded and made the call for the person involved to be air-lifted to a hospital. The Chesterfield Fire Department, State Police and Northampton Control were among the multiple agencies who assisted with the incident.

Fire crews set up a landing zone, carried the patient through the snow to an ambulance where a paramedic began to care for the victim before the helicopter arrived. 

No word on what led up to the crash or the condition of the victim. Environmental Police is investigating the accident.
