The Paradise City Arts Festival began this weekend. 22News was there to find out what makes this festival so special.
Saturday was the first day of the Paradise City Arts Festival at the Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton. This festival has been a tradition in western Massachusetts for decades. People come from all over to visit.
Ken Salem, a vendor at the fair, told 22News, “I’ve been doing this for 18 years I come down in the spring and the fall, its a great show to come to and I’m always amazed how many people show up.”
This year’s theme is Flower Power, exhibits bring together a colorful collection of arts and crafts.
At the festival you can find flower themed paintings, ceramics, jewelry, glass, and much more.
22News spoke with one woman who came all the way from Philadelphia. She told 22News why this festival is so special. Joanne Litz, of Philadelphia, told 22News, “The quality of the show, your around other artists that are on your same level and that’s hard to find anymore, you know there aren’t many shows left that we like.”
The Paradise City Arts Festival will run until Memorial Day, rain or shine.
